City planners are thinking outside the box when it comes to Downtown Rochester's parking issues. The city held a public meeting to discuss urban planning strategies for transportation infrastructure. Officials presented their ideas, and members of the community were invited to give their suggestions.

Kevin Kelley is the Senior Community Housing Planner. He says though Rochester has plenty of parking spaces available, they may not be convenient or appealing to residents. He's looking at progressive ways to address transportation issues.

Rochester and several local towns are looking to expand opportunities for bicyclists. They want more people bicycling to work. Is it safe? Is it working? Are bicyclists following the law? We ask some bicycling enthusiasts in studio:

In the first part of the hour, members of the Xerox Research Center tell us what innovations in transportation they are working on. 

Then, how can one organization reposition the arts? We talk with Stephen Butler from Engage CNY about how they are accomplishing this feat.

RGRTA is finally getting their large new downtown terminal. How much is the final pricetag? Who’s paying for it? And is Rochester ready for a subsidized bikesharing program?

We discuss this in studio with RGRTA CEO Bill Carpenter, RGRTA COO Daniele Coll-Gonzalez, and Rich Perrin of the Genesee Transportation Council (GTC).

City officials are considering three sites for a new Intermodal Transit Center for Rochester.
