Xerox To Auction Off Some Patents

Xerox

Xerox is planning to auction off some of its patents.  The company has hired an intellectual property broker to auction 239 patents across more than two dozen technological areas.

The company notes that Xerox now has more than 12,000 active  U.S. patents, so the number they are trying to sell is a fraction of that.

A Xerox official says it's vital that the company  seek the best return on its innovation investments and it will do that by licensing or selling some of its patents where appropriate.

Bidding on the 239 patents will take place between July 24th and July 29th.
