AVANGRID, the parent company of RG&E and NYSEG says that considerable progress has been made in making repairs in the affected regions around the state.
Officials say the vast majority of the remaining customers who don’t have power will be restored on Friday, by 11:45 p.m., with the exception of scattered outages remaining in the hardest hit areas in Western NY. Some of those outages have estimated restoration times of 11:45 p.m. on Saturday.
AVANGRID says it has deployed additional resources to several counties including Monroe and Wayne.

While a number of area utility customers have had power restored since Wednesday’s windstorm, some people are still without power, and could be without electricity until sometime on Saturday night.
That’s according to the restoration times listed on the RG&E website.
As of early Friday morning, RG&E had about 2,300 customers in Monroe County without electricity.
The Town of Irondequoit has a warming station at the public library as follows:
- Friday, April 6 - 10AM to 9PM (extended hours)
- Saturday, April 7 - 10AM to 9PM (extended hours
AVANGRID, parent company of RG&E and NYSEG, says it currently haas more than 1,300 line and tree crews working statewide in addition to well over 700 support personnel.
Our top priorities after storms are to ensure safety and to safely restore power as quickly as possible for our customers,” said Patricia Nilsen, Director of Emergency Preparedness at AVANGRID. “As areas complete restoration, we are redeploying resources to the remaining affected areas to join our already engaged workers. We have secured additional mutual assistance resources from other regional utilities and municipal electric partners. Approximately 200 extra personnel are in route to further advance restoration efforts.”
NYSEG had more than 500 outages early Friday morning in Wayne County, with scattered outages elsewhere.
