The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Monroe County from 4pm Monday to 10am on Tuesday. Rain will change to snow, accumulating about 3 to 6 inches by later on Tuesday morning.

There is a Winter Storm Warningfor Livingston, Ontario, Wayne and other counties to the south and east with accumulations of 6 to 10 inches expected during that same time frame.

Whatever snow we do get is expected to be the heavy, wet variety, which may make the Tuesday morning commute difficult in some areas.

The storm is expected to cause other issues in the New York city area and Long Island with rainy, windy conditions during that time.

Governor Andrew Cuomo is urging New Yorkers to prepare for the storm.

The State Emergency Operations and Watch Centers will be staffed for enhanced monitoring through the period.

Cuomo says additional resources from other regions of the state are ready for reallocation as necessary.
