West Irondequoit School District Voters head back to the polls on Tuesday for another vote on their budget.
It was the only spending plan rejected by voters last month. The voters on Tuesday will consider the same $67.7 million proposal that was turned down in May. It calls for an increase in the property tax levy of 3.9 percent.
The budget needs a 60 percent “super majority” to pass. If it does not, the district will have to adopt a contingency budget which has the same property tax levy as the previous school year, which is $1.5 million smaller than the budget which is being proposed for next year.
Voting is from 6am to 9pm at the Irondequoit High School on Cooper Road.
