An official at UR Medicine will be the next president of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Susan McDaniel, the director of UR Medicine's Institute for the Family, will take up the new role in 2016.
McDaniel, a family psychologist, oversees faculty working in a number of disciplines including family medicine, obstetrics and surgery.
Over the next year, McDaniel will be laying the groundwork for major initiatives she plans to undertake as president of the American Psychological Association including furthering the integration of psychology into all areas of health care.
