The University of Rochester has named a new dean for the College in Arts, Sciences and Engineering.
He is Jeffrey Runner, who is chair of the Dept. of Linguistics at the U of R. Runner succeeds Richard Feldman, who served as dean of the college for the past decade. Feldman will return to the philosophy faculty following a year of leave.
Runner will begin a five year term beginning in July, pending final approval by the Board of Trustees.
The dean is responsible for 16 offices and centers that focus on areas including academics, research, student life and diversity.
