The union representing Monroe County road patrol deputies has ratified a new contract. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Police Benevolent Association approved the five-year agreement which covers 2017 - 2021.
It affects the wages and benefits of 255 employees.
The PBA issued a statement saying the contract allows its members to stay competitive with other law enforcement agencies while also being responsible to the taxpayers.
Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo called the contract, "a fair and equitable settlement that meets the needs of the deputies and is fiscally responsible to the taxpayers of Monroe County.”
There was no immediate word on the details of the pact. It now goes to the full county legislature for approval.
