State Police are investigating an accident on the Thruway in Mendon that killed 2 people Monday afternoon.
It happened on the westbound side of the highway, troopers say that five vehicles were involved including a tractor trailer.
Reportedly an eastbound vehicle crossed into the westbound lanes hitting the truck and other vehicles.
The accident shut down westbound lanes of the highway between exits 45 and 46 just after 4:30 p.m. and they were not reopened until just before 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
Other injuries were also reported.
