A new survey by the Rochester Business Alliance finds that 89 percent of Rochester-area employers are planning pay increases for some or all employees next year. Only four percent of those companies responding to the survey anticipate a wage freeze.

The company leaders are budgeting for a projected pay increase of 2.9 percent next year, slightly lower than the 3 percent increase budgeted this year.

RBA President Sandy Parker says the numbers are consistent with what they've seen in recent years. She says the increases have outpaced inflation but employees are still struggling with the cost of health care.

Local projections for 2015 pay increases are slightly lower than the national estimates.
