State Lawmakers: 56 Days, $79,500+

ALBANY (AP) The New York Legislature's calendar for next year shows 57 days for actual legislative sessions in Albany.

The schedule begins Jan. 6 and ends June 16.

The Legislature is considered part time. Base pay is $79,500.

The 2016 calendar shows seven session days in January, seven in February and 16 days in March, when lawmakers face a deadline for passing the state budget and related legislation.

It shows six working days in April, another 12 in May and nine in June before recessing for the year.
