Bernabi Elementary School in Spencerport is one of eighteen schools across the state being recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
The schools are chosen either for overall academic excellence or progress in student achievement.
A ceremony is planned in November in Washington for the 236 public and 50 private schools that were honored.
