The regional group that is tasked with coming up with priorities for local economic development projects seeking state funding has released its wish list.
The Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council on Wednesday released its progress report for the nine county region. The council has endorsed several projects including a biosciences manufacturing center at the Eastman Business Park.
Other projects include creating an innovation district in Rochester and a variety of other activities such as ventures that will help the region’s farmers and food entrepreneurs develop new products.
The Finger Lakes Council is again recommending the creation of a small business expansion fund and tax credits to support the growth of several small businesses.
The state is funding up to $750 million to be made available for economic development efforts around New York.
The money will be allocated earlier this year. It’s expected to be released before the November election, instead of later in the year as it was in past years.
