The organization that provides a variety of services to the LGBTQ+ community in the Greater Rochester area is looking for a new executive director.

The Out Alliance (formerly, the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley), has announced that Scott Fearing has resigned as executive director of the organization. Fearing has led the organization since 2013.

Fearing says that, “Helping to guide the growth of this incredible organization has been the honor of a lifetime. I am so excited to see where the agency will go in the future.”

The organization’s board noted that under Fearing’s leadership, the agency moved from a small office at the Rochester Auditorium Theatre to a “beautiful and vibrant community center” near Village Gate.  Officials say Fearing’s passion for education also helped the agency grow into one of the top LGBTQ+ education providers in the nation.

The board of the Out Alliance has formed a transition team to help in the search process for a new director.
