Schumer Says New Harris Contract Will Create Up To 100 Jobs

Harris Corporation

New York Senator Chuck Schumer says the recently announced $12.7 billion dollar military contract that Harris Corporation is part of, will create up to 100 jobs in the Rochester area.

Schumer released a statement Saturday saying that the contract, which also involves two other companies, will also help preserve Harris Corporation’s current workforce in Rochester.

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter released a statement Friday night about the 10-year contract which will see Harris provide communications gear to the U.S. Army.

She and Schumer argued for changing military acquisition policies to end no-bid military contracts to allow companies like Harris to openly compete for this program
