Rochester General Hospital To Restrict Visitation Due To Flu

Rochester General Hospital is now the second major local hospital system to take additional precautions because of the current outbreak of the flu.

RGH officials say that effective Tuesday, they will implement hospital-wide restrictions  which include a maximum of  two visitors per patient on all units. Also all visitors must be at least 14 years old, and they are strongly recommending that anyone with symptoms of illness not visit patients in the hospital.

The U of R Medical Center this week also put visitor restrictions into effect at the children's hospital and the maternity unit.  They are also asking people who may have the flu or a similar illness not to visit patients at the hospital.
