Rochester Airshow scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled

A one-day airshow scheduled for the Greater Rochester International Airport this week has been canceled.

The airshow promoter, PEC Management says the May 17th show is being canceled because the Canadian Forces Snowbirds notified the company that they will not be able to do the show.  The airshow promoter says at this point, he was just told by the Canadian team it had to do with "operational issues," but there's no specific details yet from the Snowbirds.

Dave Cooper, Managing Director for PEC Management says since the Snowbirds can’t be at the show, it just made sense to cancel the entire event.  He say it was an “extreme disappointment” but they look forward to working on future airshows.

The last time that Canadian aerobatic team was in Rochester was in 2009 when they performed at a show at Ontario Beach.
