Republican candidate for New York Governor Rob Astorino and his running mate Chris Moss made the rounds in upstate New York Monday to continue hammering on incumbent Democrat Andrew Cuomo about his handling of the anti-corruption Moreland Commission.

A New York Times story last week brought up questions on how Cuomo and his staff may have interfered with the way that commission operated.

Cuomo again defended his handling of the commission during a stop in Buffalo, but during Astorino's stop in Rochester, he said he wasn't buying Cuomo's explanation.

"He's trying to muddy the waters as most as he can, because he wants to make sure that the questions on Moreland stop but they're not going to stop because this is Andrew Cuomo's Watergate. It is just beginning now, it's just unfolding.”

Astorino and his running mate came to the Rochester news conference holding brooms and bottles of bleach, saying it was to show they are ready to clean up corruption in New York State if they get elected.

One of the commission's chairmen, Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick, says that Cuomo's office never interfered.  Astorino says that contradicts what was reported concerning earlier emails involving the commission
