Nabil Nasr, who is the director of RIT's Golisano Institute for Sustainability, has been named a member of a United Nations panel dedicated to protecting the use of the world's natural resources.
The United Nations Environmental Program's International Resource Panel was launched in 2007 to build and share knowledge toward improving the use of resources worldwide.
The panel consists of scientists who are highly skilled in resource management issues.
Nasr says he is excited about the opportunity and says it is recognition of the expanding global reputation of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability.
