RIT Plans Next Big Shot Close To Home

The RIT 'Big Shot,'  which involves hundreds of volunteers using a light source to illuminate a special venue or landmark, has been done in many locations far from Rochester. But that won't be the case this September, when the Big Shot will be held right on campus.

This time, the photography team will point its lenses at the Golisano Institute for Sustainability along with the Louise M. Slaughter Hall and the surrounding quad.

Organizers say this will be the first "computational image" which involves processing and enhancement techniques that go beyond the capabilities of regular digital photography.

The event later this year is scheduled for Saturday, September 6.  There was another big shot project this past February in High Falls. The Big Shot project began in 1987.
