RIT Launches Bike Share Program

rit.edu

Students, faculty and staff who have a tough time negotiating RIT's sprawling campus have a new travel option.

The college's Student Government has just launched a bike share program.

Student Government president Paul Darragh says those who register can borrow the bikes for free, as long as they bring them back in 24 hours.  He says it's not only students who are interested.  "I've had a large number of faculty and staff emailing me to say 'Hey, when can we get these bikes on the academic side?' "

The bike share program currently operates out of the Kate Gleason Hall dormitory. Darragh says the fleet of 20 bikes could expand if there is enough interest.
