RIT says it will use a multi-million dollar federal grant to establish a cybersecurity scholarship program.
The National Science Foundation has awarded RIT a five-year, nearly $4 million grant that will allow the university to become part of a scholarship program which was established in response to ongoing threats to the nation's information technology infrastructure.
The program provides full tuition and a stipend in exchange for future government service. RIT was one of the first universities in the country to create a dedicated department of computing security.
