Mayor Tom Richards was defeated Tuesday night by Lovely Warren in the race for Mayor.
He said Wednesday he's fine with that, and the last couple of months have been confusing for him personally, and that may have made the process a little more difficult for people.
For that, he says, he's sorry, but appreciates the work of the people behind the effort to get him re-elected.
Richards says he was not behind the "Turn Out for Tom" campaign effort, as some have claimed.
He says the transition to a Lovely Warren administration has already begun, and the best thing to do is to root for the new mayor of Rochester.
Richards adds he didn't even watch the election returns come in last night.
Instead, he says he read a book and watched a documentary on PBS.
