Congressman Tom Reed has come out in support of Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Last month, Western New York Congressman Chris Collins became the first sitting member of Congress to endorse Trump, and at that time, Reed had said there were many quality Republican candidates and said he would trust the voters to select the best Republican to be the nominee.

Reed, a Republican from the Southern Tier, had initially supported Jeb Bush until he dropped out.

On  Wednesday, Reed issued a statement saying that it’s time for Republicans to unite behind Trump saying that “as the people vote, it has become clear more Republicans favor Donald Trump than any other candidate.”

Reed says it’s time to unite behind Trump’s candidacy, and he called for moving “beyond the bombastic rhetoric to positive discussion about creating jobs and improving the lives of all Americans.”
