Reorganizing Academic Schools At Roberts Wesleyan College

Roberts Wesleyan College is reorganizing the way it handles its academic programs.  The Chili college is creating five new schools, headed up by deans who come from existing faculty.

Currently, Roberts Wesleyan has two schools, Liberal Arts and Sciences and the School of Professional studies. Those names will go away, and now there will be the following schools and deans:

* School of Arts and Humanities: Scott Caton

* School of Business: Steven Bovee

* School of Natural and Social Sciences: Julie Grimm

* School of Nursing: Cheryl Crotser

*School of Education and Social Work: David Skiff

David Basinger is Chief Academic Officer for Roberts Wesleyan. He says the restructuring is designed to help the college manage growth more easily.

“We can not only maintain and increase quality, but we can identify better new program options and follow through on those.”

The reorganization is also part of efforts by Roberts Wesleyan to grow enrollment and increase intellectual vitality.

Next year, Roberts Wesleyan is also looking at some new programs including homeland security and music therapy.
