When the City of Rochester reorganized its police department almost a year ago, Mayor Lovely Warren and Police Chief Michael Ciminelli said the goal was to achieve a closer, more harmonious relationship between officers and citizens.
But long before that - about 11 years ago - a program was started to help the city's youth and police better understand each other and improve their often tense interactions.
For the next two days, we will be exploring the progress and the challenges of Teen Empowerment's Youth-Police Dialogue Project.
