Sibling relationships are dynamic and influence us throughout our lifetime. Some siblings are friends, others tolerate each other and then there those with strained relationships. But deaf and hearing siblings have a unique relationship, with its own set of challenges, not often observed or researched. On this edition of Need to Know, host Hélène Biandudi Hofer sits down with authors Judy Jonas and Marla Berkowitz during a recent visit to Rochester. They discuss the research and findings of their book, Deaf and Hearing Siblings in Conversation. According to the authors, their text is the first to consider both deaf and hearing perspectives on the dynamics of adult sibling relationships.
