One person killed after crash on Lake Avenue

TWC News

Rochester Police say that one person was killed, and another injured Saturday afternoon in an accident on Lake Avenue. They say the 62 year old man was driving and the passenger was his 66 year old wife.

Officers say the driver had a medical problem and lost control of the car. It continued across Lake Avenue, went over a median, then over the sidewalk, taking down a pole and some railing.

The vehicle then continued over an embankment, and went through the parking lot of McDonald’s, striking another pole before coming to rest next to the building. The pole struck the front of the McDonald’s, breaking a window but no one inside was injured.

Both the driver and passenger were taken to Strong Hospital. The man was pronounced dead; his wife is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
