One man dies in a Rochester Fire

Rochester fire officials say one person died after a fire on the west side of the city early this morning.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 50 Grover Street just after 1:00 this morning after seeing the flames from their nearby firehouse.

They had a report of someone trapped inside and found a 56 year old man on the second floor of the two family home.

He later died at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was the only person home at the time of the fire; the downstairs resident was not home when the fire broke out.

One firefighter suffered a non-life threatening injury.

The investigation continues into the cause of the fire
