One Dead, Several Injured In Rochester Shooting

Rochester Police are investigating an incident where one person was killed, and several others  injured during a shooting early Sunday morning.

It happened around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, as authorities got numerous calls about shots fired at the Mexican Village Night Club at 547 State Street.

When they got to the scene, officers found several people suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, a 29 year old man from the city, was dead at the scene.

Six other victims were found at various locations around the area, all taken to Strong Hospital for treatment. Police say those six appear to have non-life threatening injuries.

An additional victim was taken to Rochester General by a private vehicle. Those who survived the attack include a 16 year old male, and men ranging in age from 21 to 30 as well as a 25 year old woman.

Officials at Strong Hospital say they  received 6 patients, and as of Sunday morning, 2 patients were  discharged, 2 were in guarded condition and 2 were in satisfactory condition.

Other details about what led up to the shooting were not released yet.
