ALBANY, N.Y. (AP)  The sixth annual census by a nonprofit solar research and education group shows New York ranks fourth in the nation in solar technology jobs.

The Solar Foundation reports in its 2015 census that 208,859 Americans now work in the solar energy sector, including 8,250 in New York.

The foundation says it's the third consecutive year that solar jobs nationwide have grown by 20 percent or more.

The top 10 states for total solar jobs are California, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina and Colorado.

Last month, Gov. Andrew Cuomo launched a $5 billion Clean Energy Fund to advance solar, wind, energy efficiency and other clean technology industries to boost economic growth and reduce harmful emissions.
