Tuesday will see some sloppy driving, but not the heavier amounts of snow that seemed to be a possibility yesterday.
The weather picture has changed over the last several hours, with the National Weather Service dropping the ‘winter storm warning’ for areas to the south and east of Rochester.
There is now a Winter Weather Advisory for Rochester and most counties in Western and Central NY and the Finger Lakes. That Winter Weather Advisory has been extended until 7pm on Tuesday.
There was some mixed precipitation overnight and into the early morning hours with a combination of sleet, rain and snow; that mixture is changing over to all snow, but accumulations will be generally light on Tuesday, with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation in the immediate Rochester metro, and maybe 2 to 3 inches to the south and east of Rochester.
Temperatures will remain in the low 30s, but officials say watch out for slick road conditions in spots especially during the morning commute.
