New Downtown MCC campus opens Tuesday

monroecc.edu

It has been in the planning and construction stages for several years, but early Tuesday morning,  MCC will finally have its new downtown campus.

The college moved from leased space at the Sibley Building to a complex of renovated buildings adjacent to the Kodak Tower corporate headquarters.

The $78 million  project includes money from both the state and Monroe County and officials say it will provide better,  more coordinated space in terms of collaboration and other amenities.

The facility also includes green roofs, designed to help reduce energy costs while also acting as a teaching tool for students.

The new downtown campus will serve around two thousand students.  It will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, and 7:30 am to 5pm on Saturday.
