Thousands of feet will be pounding the pavement around RIT on Tuesday evening for the 25th annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge.
The road race and walk is held by the banking company all over the world, but on a per capita basis, Rochester is one of their more popular spots. The local race originally was held in Highland Park, but as it grew, they needed a bigger venue, and now use the RIT campus.
Mark Allen is a regional executive for J.P. Morgan Chase. He says more than 400 companies, non-profits and other groups are fielding teams.
"It’s just a great opportunity to bring the companies that you work with and for, together. There's no titles on race night, we like to say that; so everyone's around the same facility enjoying each other's company, and it's usually timed right as it is this year, a great launch into the upcoming summer months."
More than 10,000 participants are registered. The 3.5 mile run and walk is also a fundraiser for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Rochester. The race starts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
