Missing Teen One of Hundreds of Missing Children Each Year in Monroe County

missingkids.com

As Police search for a missing Fairport teenager last seen in Irondequoit, the Director of Community Education at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Rochester, Pam Weaver, has a reminder for parents. She says when it comes to a missing child, time is of the essence and people with concerns should contact law enforcement immediately.

Weaver says in order for the Center or authorities to create a poster, a picture of the child is needed.

Parents should also provide indentifying information such as height and weight, and what they were wearing when they were last seen. Weaver adds sometimes it's the police, or the families themselves, that request the Center get involved in a missing child case.

15 year old Daze Smith was last seen Tuesday near East Ridge Road. Police are asking for the public's help in locating her. Weaver says there are about 12-hundred missing children in Monroe County each year.
