A well known leader in local telecommunications is retiring.

Ann Burr, who has been an executive with Frontier Corporation for nearly 12 years, and was an official with Time Warner in Rochester before that, says she has retired effective June 15.

Burr most recently was chairman of Frontier’s Rochester division and was also vice president of customer engagement.

She came to Frontier after taking early retirement from Time Warner where she had been president of their Rochester operations.

Burr is also a former WXXI trustee.

Burr says she plans to spend more time with family and friends and do some traveling. She says that Frontier Senior Vice President Paul Quick will assume responsibility for the Frontier Telephone of Rochester Board of Directors.

Randy Gorbman is WXXI's director of news and public affairs. Randy manages the day-to-day operations of WXXI News on radio, television, and online.
