LISTEN: U of R Remembers the Beatles' Appearance on Ed Sullivan

On Monday’s Connections, Evan Dawson plays clips from the Beatles' appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show; and talks with U of R professor John Covach to separate fact from Beatles fiction.

More than 27,000 people around the world have signed up for the free online Beatles music class conducted by the University of Rochester’s Professor John Covach.

The class starts on February 9, which is the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. The University of Rochester is hosting a number of free events surrounding the anniversary, culminating in the launch of the class.

On Monday's Connections, we played clips from the Ed Sullivan Show; Professor Covach separated fact from Beatles fiction, and we took calls from listeners who recalled watching the Beatles’ American debut, which you can hear by clicking "Listen" at the top of this story.
