Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich says he can’t remember the last time the town hosted a Fourth of July event, so this year, the Town Hall will play host to a day of activities, ending in a fireworks show at dusk.
Reilich says it all starts with a 5K run down Long Pond Road, with proceeds to benefit the Senior Transportation Program, and other local charities.
Then the parking lot at the Town Hall will be filled with food vendors and activities for the kids.
At 8pm, the band “Orleans” performs, then the fireworks start around 10pm.
Reilich says area businesses are contributing to the event, so he anticipates no taxpayer dollars will be spent on the celebration.
He says events like this can bring residents together and strengthen the community.
