Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge To Close For The Season

Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge
Monroe County DOT

The Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge  will close to vehicular traffic beginning Wednesday, April 1st at 9:00 a.m.

That's a seasonal event, which involves swinging the bridge into its storage space along the western shore of the outlet. It is required each year to provide for unobstructed boat traffic between Irondequoit Bay and Lake Ontario.

The span is put back in place for vehicular traffic during the winter months. The outlet bridge will now be closed to traffic until November 2nd.
