Imagine RIT Festival Set for May 4th

RIT

The community will be able to enjoy some creative and innovative festivities on the RIT campus this weekend.

The college's annual event includes more than 400 interactive exhibits and performances throughout the Henrietta campus.

"You don't really realize what some of these young bright minds are doing today," explains the chairman of the festival Dr. Barry Culhane.  "You'll walk away feeling good about the American education system and our country and what we're going to be contributing to society for years to come.

Dr. Culhane says one display of interest is the Power Wheels competition.

"We usually do something with electric and sustainable vehicles," says  Dr. Culhane. "So that's part of our whole push at RIT for innovation, creativity and sustainability. You get to see it live."

There are over 2,200 students, faculty and staff involved in this year's festival.

The Imagine RIT festival is free and open to the public. It runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Additional parking is available on the MCC campus in Brighton with free shuttle bus service to the event.
