Help Kids Keep "Warm Hearts, Warm Hands"

Goodwin College

If you want to help keep children warm this holiday, consider donating hats, gloves, mittens and scarves.

Again this holiday season, Rochester Assemblyman Harry Bronson is collecting the cold weather gear for children who need them. This year, he is working with the Rochester Childfirst Network and the Mary Cariola Children's Center.

"The younger ages through the Childfirst Network, but Mary Cariola - they have children going all the way through high school."

This is his annual “Warm Hearts, Warm Hands” clothing drive.

"We've partnered with different organizations different years. One year we partnered with the Dimitri House. This year we chose to partner with these two educational programs that have children coming for education to their facilities."

If you want to donate, drop off items at Bronson's office on University Ave, weekdays 9 to 5 through December 18. “Please donate what you can and help your fellow community members.”

Brad Smith won the Cortland County (NY) spelling bee as a seventh grader from Homer High, in a championship broadcast live on local radio. Brad’s been trying to relive the “magnificent” (winning word) moment ever since.
