Harris Corporation has been awarded a $255 million dollar contract to manufacture military radios in support of U.S. Special Operations and for American allies.
That’s according to New York Senator Chuck Schumer, who says the contract will support jobs at Harris in Rochester.
A statement from the U.S. Dept. of Defense says the radios will provide a capability to receive and distribute intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance data in the form of full motion video, along with other technology.
The majority of the work will be performed in Rochester and is expected to be completed by June 2023.
