Greece Police Chief Leaving To Head Up The Veterans Outreach Center

Town of Greece

Greece Police Chief Todd Baxter is leaving that job to become Executive Director of the Veterans Outreach Center in Rochester.

Baxter took over in Greece about four years ago, after 22 years in the Rochester Police Department. He joined the RPD after three years of active service in the Army. He also spent 22 years in military service with the Army Reserves.

He will replace Col. Gary Yaple who left the job at the Veterans Outreach Center last December.

Baxter will start in his new role on April 2.

Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich says that Baxter will be greatly missed, calling him a "welcome addition" to a department that was in turmoil. Reilich says Baxter delivered on a promise to create a stronger police department.

There's no word yet who will replace Reilich at the Greece PD.
