Gray Wolves Arrive at Seneca Park Zoo

The Seneca Park Zoo has two new residents.

A pair of gray wolves arrived this week.  Two-year old Timber and Willow were born a the New York State Zoo in Watertown and had most recently been living at the Buffalo Zoo.

In November, Seneca Park Zoo visitors said goodbye to the 8-year old Mexican wolves who had been on loan to the Zoo since 2011.

The wolves were transferred to a conservation center in South Salem, New York.

Gray wolves are on the endangered species list in most of the continental U.S., but the species' population has recovered enough in nine states to no longer be classified as endangered.
