Thursday the start of the 27th annual GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance in Trumansburg, in Tompkins County.
Over 80 bands will perform over the four-day festival, which runs through Sunday.
In addition to all the music, there is plenty of food, workshops, and other activities planned at the fairgrounds, around 10 miles north of Ithaca.
The GrassRoots Festival is a nonprofit organization that says it works to nurture local artists and talent while trying to bring world music and culture to new audiences while creating environments that inspire creativity and foster community building.
