RIT has announced that former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and her astronaut husband Mark Kelly will be among the speakers at this fall’s Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend.
The couple’s speech is titled “Endeavor to Succeed, and it will explore goals, perseverance and managing difficult situations.
Giffords suffered a severe head injury when a gunman opened fire at an event in Arizona in 2011.
She and her husband have been lobbying for tougher gun laws. Their appearance at RIT will be October 12th at the university’s Gordon Field House.
