Fast food workers around Rochester and in other cities walked off the job today, calling for a 15-dollar an hour minimum wage, and the right to join a union.
Manager at the Wendy's Restaurant on East Ridge Road in Irondequoit, Kim Ramos, says she and other workers want a raise, and protections on the job.
The Fight for 15 is the growing movement to make 15-dollars an hour the minimum wage.
Currently in New York it's 8-dollars and hour and is scheduled to go to 8.75 next year.
Ramos says even as a manager, she makes less than 10 dollars an hour.
She says she and her co-workers are the ones who serve the customers and bring in the revenue for the industry.
