A section of the busy Park Avenue/Berkeley St. area in Rochester was cordoned off for a while this morning, with a number of police, including a SWAT team called to the scene.
RPD got a call at about 8:30 a.m. from a caller claiming he had four hostages and a gun at that location. The caller asked for $100,000 to get the hostages released, and police say he also claimed to have a bomb at that location.
The bomb team unit and crisis negotiators were also sent to the scene. Police checked the area but didn’t find anything. They are still trying to find out where the call came from.
There is no one in custody right now, and no one was injured.
