Gates Police credit Facebook for the arrest Friday night of a seven-time felon for a robbery a week ago.
Michael John Kearney of Rochester, who is 46 years old, was identified after Gates Police posted photos of him on their Facebook page – photos taken from a surveillance system.
The Valero gas station on Buffalo Road was burglarized last Saturday. Police say within three hours of posting the pictures, Kearney was identified, and they are grateful to helpful residents for this arrest, and for several others.
According to a release from Gates Police, Michael John Kearney has seven felony convictions. He was arraigned in Gates Court and, as a predicate felon, was sent to MC jail with no bail. Police say he is scheduled to return to Gates Court on Wednesday September 30th.
