Employee In Rochester 911 Center Arrested

Officials with the City of Rochester say that an employee in the Emergency Communications Department was arrested early Tuesday morning. City Hall says the arrest was done by the FBI and the employee was on duty in the 911 Center at the time of the arrest.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says that 33 year old Jason Cortese faces charges that include attempted production of child pornography and enticement of a minor. Prosecutors say a family member of a 12 year old notified police after seeing the content's of the 12 year old's cell phone which revealed sexually explicit conversations between the 12 year old and Cortese.

City officials, who did not directly identify Cortese in their statement,  say that as a union member, the employee is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and any potential disciplinary action will need to follow protocols established under the union contract.
